Read a quote that I love as I was preparing a church lesson this last week. It’s referring to the promptings of the Holy Ghost, but you can easily substitute “inspiration”:
“…we can leave the most precious, personal direction of the Spirit unheard if we fail to record and respond to the first promptings that come to us”
Richard G. Scott
Put the other way, we can miss the greatest opportunities in our creative work if we fail to respond to the inspiration that come to us.
How do you record your promptings or inspiration when it comes to you? Do you keep a notebook or voice recordings? How much have you missed by not doing so?
If we then don’t respond to those promptings, what are we doing? That’s the “muse” that’s so often spoken of in creative work. If we don’t immediately act on it when it comes, what are we doing with our time instead?
Find time today to think about how YOU record and respond to inspiration and put in place a way to do so if you haven’t yet.
