There are certain goals that you’re going to try go after that require the input or the agency of others. Too often those goals take longer, or don’t pan out, or don’t happen the way we hoped.
That difference between expectation and reality is what causes us to feel depressed, frustrated, and even ashamed.
You need to also have goals that you are 100% in control of. Whether it’s losing 10 pounds, getting $1,000 in savings or paying off a credit card, spending more time with your partner or children or friends, those are all goals you are completely capable of and require no one else’s permission.
Make sure you’re not living your life 100% dependent on other people’s permissions. Get a win.
